Het optische ontwerp van de SD biedt zeer goede optische prestaties op alle gebieden (beeldveld, randscherpte, kleurweergave, transmissie, dichtbij scherpstellen). In combinatie met de met rubber gepantserde magnesium behuizing, de korte magnesium brug (met statiefadapter) en het hoogwaardige en ergonomische ontwerp, resulteert dit in een zeer lichte en compacte verrekijker die uniek is in zijn klasse. Het is de ideale metgezel voor gebruik buitenshuis en op reis.
