Ray is het ultieme, ultracompacte, micro-reisstatief, dat ongelooflijke draagbaarheid combineert met kracht en stabiliteit.
Ray maakt deel uit van het nieuwe Legends-assortiment van 3 Legged Thing en heeft niet één maar drie afneembare poten die kunnen worden gebruikt als monopods of giek armen. Met de poten verwijderd, kan Ray worden gebruikt als tafelstatief door een set 3LT's statief schoenen toe te voegen.
Ray is opgebouwd uit 8 lagen van 100% pure koolstofvezel en aerospace-grade magnesiumlegering, en heeft 3LT's nieuwe ontwerp van been- en kolomsloten. Extern nieuwe O-Pads geven gebruikers verbeterde grip, hefboomwerking en waterverplaatsing. Intern zijn de sloten ontworpen met een nieuw ontwerp van anti-rotatie Chicken Lips (shims) die de sloten meer kracht en grip geven.
De nieuwe Rapid Latch van 3LT, een nieuwe geanodiseerde metalen beenvergrendeling met automatische vergrendeling, wordt gebruikt om de benen van Ray te openen en te positioneren, en om ze los te laten voor contra-fold.
Ray wordt geleverd met een prachtige nieuwe Arca-Swiss compatibele balhoofd - de AirHed Vu en QR-Octa snelkoppelingsplaat. AirHed Vu heeft voorgevormde veiligheidsuitsparingen in de afneembare klem, om veiligheidspennen aan de onderkant van de QR-Octa-plaat op te nemen. AirHed Vu heeft ook een zichtvenster in de behuizing waardoor het mechanisme op zijn plaats kan bewegen.

Ray is the ultimate, ultra-compact, micro-travel tripod, pairing incredible portability with strength and stability
Part of 3 Legged Thing’s new Legends range, Ray features not one but three detachable legs which can be used as monopods or boom arms. With the legs removed, Ray can be used as a table-top tripod by adding a set of 3LT’s tripod footwear.
Ray is constructed from 8 layers of 100% pure carbon fibre and aerospace-grade magnesium alloy, and has 3LT's new design of leg and column locks. Externally new O-Pads give users improved grip, leverage, and water displacement. Internally the locks have been engineered with a new design of anti-rotation Chicken Lips (shims) which give the locks greater strength and grip.
3LT’s new Rapid Latch, a new anodised metal leg latch with auto-engage lock, is used to open and position Ray’s legs, and to release them for counter-folding.
Ray ships with a stunning new Arca-Swiss compatible ballhead – the AirHed Vu, and QR-Octa quick release plate. AirHed Vu features contoured security cut-outs in the detachable clamp, to accommodate security pins in the underside of the QR-Octa plate. AirHed Vu also has a vision panel in the casing allowing uses to see the mechanism move into place.
