De Canon PowerShot G1 X is een geweldige compact camera met een geweldig bereik wat betreft inzetbaarheid. De gevoelige senso van deze camera is bijvoorbeeld ook een genot voor het maken van macro-opnames. Maar dit soort opnames hebben vaak baat bij extra belichting. Canon heeft hiervoor wel de MR-14EX of MT-24 macro flitser uitgebracht, maar omdat de G1 X een compact camera is met een ingebouwde zoomlens is er standaard geen mogelijkheid om deze flitsers op de compact camera te bevestigen. En daar komt de JJC MLA-JDC1 Macro Light Adapter goed bij van pas.

De MLA-JDC1 Macro Light Adapter is feitelijk niets anders dan een koker die om de behuizing van de zoomlens bevestigd kan worden. Op deze koker kunt u vervolgens de macro flitser bevestigen. Een nadeel van de MLA-JDC1 zou kunnen zijn dat bij bevestiging u in de groothoekstand vignettering zou kunnen krijgen, maar bij het maken van macro-opnames maakt u gebruik van zoom waardoor dit eigenlijk niet noemenswaardig zou moeten zijn.

The Canon PowerShot G1 X is a great compact camera with a great range in terms of usability. For example, the sensitive senso of this camera is also a pleasure for taking macro shots. But these kinds of shots often benefit from extra exposure. Canon did release the MR-14EX or MT-24 macro flash for this purpose, but because the G1 X is a compact camera with a built-in zoom lens, there is no way to attach these flash units to the compact camera as standard. And that's where the JJC MLA-JDC1 Macro Light Adapter comes in handy.

The MLA-JDC1 Macro Light Adapter is in fact nothing more than a tube that can be fitted around the housing of the zoom lens. You can then attach the macro flash to this tube. A disadvantage of the MLA-JDC1 could be that when attached you might get vignetting in wide-angle mode, but when taking macro shots you are using zoom so this really shouldn't be significant.
