Een octabox wordt vooral gebruikt om ronde reflecties te verkrijgen, denk bijvoorbeeld aan ogen, tijdens een portretshoot. Een ronde 'highlight' oogt veel natuurlijker dan een vierkante softbox omdat de zon wordt nagebootst.
Inclusief Grid
Een grid wordt gebruikt om de verstrooing van het licht onder controle te houden. Dit kan vooral nuttig zijn in kleinere ruimtes. Het zachte licht van de softboxen wordt niet beïnvloed en je hebt meer controle over de richting van het licht. De stoffen grid is heeft aan de zijkant een klitteband strip, waardoor het heel makkelijk is om de grid aan de softbox te bevestigen.
